A1 Pharmaceuticals Plc were shortlisted down to the last six in the highly coveted 'Business of the Year' category at the National Business Awards 2003 held at the Royal Garden Hotel, London on the 9th September, and although they did not win the award outright they were highly commended by the judges and it was the most successful entrant from the Pharmaceutical industry. The achievement will be officially recognised at an award ceremony in November.

The awards are open to all companies in any sector that demonstrate exceptional financial returns, strong growth, innovative, strategies and market leadership in their sector. A1 Pharmaceuticals, has established itself as the market leader in the wholesale of woundcare and surgical dressings, has achieved remarkable growth in the last two years despite difficult trading conditions with turnover up by 100% and turnover per employee increasing by over 130% in just 2 years making it one of the most people efficient companies in the UK with a sales turnover per employee in excess of £1.2 million per employee.

The company will be recognising the achievements of its whole team with a celebratory dinner and a record Christmas bonus for all its employees.
