Jason Barnett storms to World No1 ranking18th September 2012
Jason Barnett of Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club ( Eastbourne, Sussex) defeated Doug Keen of The Green LTC (St Leonard’s) 6-3 6-4 in the battle of Sussex at the South of England Men’s 35 and over singles final on 1st September 2012.

The long awaited contest between the best Men’s veterans in Sussex team tennis lived up to all expectations.
Jason’s manager, pharmacist Gary Lewis, said, “The two highly skilled tennis players both fully demonstrated their huge repertoire of shots in an epic final that lived up to all expectations and a bit more. Doug is a great player that dispatched GB team player big server James Smith and last year’s finalist Mark Beim on way to the final.”

The 37 year old former pro from Aberdeen, Scotland now leaps to World no.1 ranking after winning the South of England 35 and over Senior’s singles title on the famous lawns of the Devonshire park LTC for which he competes.
Jason is the first tennis player in the history of the ITF (International Tennis Federation) Seniors to achieve no.1 World 35 & over ranking in both singles & doubles in the same year .
On Wednesday 5th September he is off to the Hungary Grade One tournament, the 10th ITF Senior Tournament of 2012 where gaining more points, or defeating the World no. 2 Daniel Dolbea from Germany will extend Jason Barnett’s lead at the top of the Men’s 35 and over singles rankings.
Gary Lewis of Lambeth, South London, is now ranked 260th in the World in men’s 50 and over singles category, up from 360th position. Carmen Lewis, Gary’s wife and co-founder of A1 Pharmaceuticals is now ranked no. 20 in mixed doubles 45 and over category.
