Received in the form of a crystal bowl and a scroll signed by the Queen, this prestigious award was an extremely proud moment for the co-founders of A1, Gary and Carmen Lewis. Awarded by the Queen on the basis of a recommendation from the Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise recognises the outstanding contribution A1 Pharmaceuticals has made to international trade.

The Mayor of Havering, Lynden Thorpe, described her pride at a local company winning such a major award, and Colonel Bryant was equally effusive in his praise, placing in context just how difficult it was gain such recognition, A1 being only the 17th company in Greater London to be recognised in this way, and the first pharmaceutical wholesaler to win the Award. In his acceptance speech, Gary thanked all the employees for their hard work, and recognised that each employee’s contribution had made the award possible. Not only does this award represent a crowning moment in the careers of Gary and Carmen, it also reflects the hard work and dedication of the great team which they have assembled at A1.
