About the Queens Award
The Awards were inaugurated in 1966 as The Queen’s Award to industry but has been renamed as the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for which A1 Pharmaceuticals has been a winner for its outstanding performance in International Trade.
The corporate Awards were originally instituted by Royal warrant following the recommendations of a Committee chaired by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
Each year Her Majesty The Queen makes the Awards on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of Government, industry, commerce, and the trade unions. The Queens Honours list is announced annually on 21st of April, The Queen’s Birthday.
The Queen will hold a reception honouring the winning companies at Buckingham Palace which the founders will attend on behalf of the company.
Presentation ceremonies are conducted normally at the winners’ premises, often by the Lord-Lieutenant of the County as the HM The Queen’s representative.
The Awards consist of a Grant of Appointment and a presentation of a crystal bowl bearing the Emblem of the Queens award.
Successful organizations are entitled to fly the Queen’s Award flag and use the emblem to demonstrate the Queens royal approval.
